History of MUSF
1972: The Spark. The idea for MUSF was conceived by Douglas Wilson ’64 to develop future alumni leaders.
The Founders: Bruce Henke ’72, a graduate assistant, led a team of four seniors to develop the organization's philosophy and initial goals.

1973: The Launch. MUSF began its first full year of campus activities, establishing its place as a cornerstone of student life.
The Mission: Founded on the principle of "students helping students," the organization sought to create a "sense of belonging" at Miami while raising scholarship funds.
Early Traditions: The first major events included a Red Carpet Day for prospective students and an all-campus weekend featuring a concert and a bike race.
The Scholarship Legacy: From its inception, proceeds from special events have been channeled directly back to the student body in the form of scholarships.

Partnerships: MUSF maintains a strong relationship with the Alumni Association and other campus partners in order to ensure that the spirit of "students helping students" reaches every generation of Miamians.
